The story of the sea glass.
Sea Glass is old glass products that were thrown into the sea.
Milk Sea glass is an opaque, milk white or coloured glass, blown or pressed into a wide variety of shapes. First made in Venice in the 16th Century, colours include blue, yellow, green, black and white that led to its popular name.
Much of the milk sea glass used in Jo Bull Jewellery were found on the beaches of Seaham on the North East coast of England.
The milk sea glass has been tossed by the tides for many decades. The images here show how the glass looks when it has been tumbled by the sea and washed onto the beaches.
Jo then works with the organic shape of the glass to cut or shape and polish it before setting it into her jewellery.
